Vince Smith

Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer, Principal

Mr. Smith has over 30 years of corporate, investment and venture finance industry expertise. For the last six years, he has been Senior Portfolio Manager for the TCP Fund. Prior to joining TCP, he held senior level positions with Knight Capital Group, Libertas Partners and Merrill Lynch. He was a Managing Director and Partner of Libertas Partners, a boutique investment bank and broker/dealer primarily focused on credit securities. Upon Libertas’ sale to Knight Capital Group in 2008, he became a Managing Director in the investment banking division at the merged entity. At Knight, he was responsible for finding and analyzing investment opportunities for leading hedge funds. Mr. Smith developed an extensive network of hedge fund managers and analysts in his role as a sell-side advisor and relationship manager.

Prior to Knight, Mr. Smith was Founder, Chairman and CEO for Bthere.net, Inc., a joint venture with Dennis Publishing. From 2000 throughout 2003, Bthere was the world wide web’s largest video content producer and distributor. He managed operations and capital raising in the extremely challenging post-tech bust market, while negotiating deals with Microsoft, Viacom, Time Warner, and Comcast among others. Bthere.net, Inc. was successfully sold to UGO.com in 2004. Directly preceding Bthere.net, Mr. Smith was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in the High Yield Division where he raised over $10 billion in capital for sub investment grade clients. He began his capital markets career as an analyst in the M&A department of Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Smith earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Finance from Indiana University.
