Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Farmer has over 30 years of corporate, venture and entrepreneurial finance as well as strategic management consulting.  Prior to  joining TCP, Mr. Farmer was a Managing Director and founding member of Advent Capital Management, a $9 billion asset manager  focused on convertible securities.  His role was as a High Yield Product Specialist and Balanced Convertible Strategy Portfolio Strategist. Working across all firm functions with various teams, he developed and maintained public fund, foundation, endowment and manager of manager relationships and was responsible for portfolio management, business development, and development and implementation of strategic directives for portfolio management and marketing. As a managing partner, Mr. Farmer established Aladdin Investment Partners (AIP), a flexible, alternatives strategy, on the $24 billion Aladdin Capital platform.  Prior to AIP, he was a partner, managing director and founder of the Fixed Income Division for Kaufman Brothers, LP.  He has held senior level origination, distribution and portfolio management positions with Advent Capital and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Farmer graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude and a Regional Rhodes Scholarship finalist from Morehouse College.  He was a Luard Scholar at The London School of Economics and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
